What I actually do as a witch

What I Actually Do as a Witch

There’s a version of witchcraft that looks really good online.

It’s all candles lined up perfectly.

Crystals glowing in golden light.

Journals with flawless handwriting and color-coded tabs.

And don’t get me wrong… I love that version too.

But that’s not what my practice actually looks like most days.

This is what I actually do as a witch:

I stir intention into my coffee while I’m half awake and already thinking about my shift.

I carry herbs in my bag that most people would walk right past without a second glance.

I clean my space when the energy feels heavy, not because it looks aesthetic, but because I can feel when something’s off.

I pay attention to my instincts… even when they don’t make logical sense.

Especially then.

My magic isn’t always pretty.

Sometimes it looks like:

  • Throwing together a quick protection working before I walk out the door

  • Sitting in silence because I don’t have the energy for anything elaborate

  • Letting a candle burn while I process something I don’t even have words for yet

It’s not curated.

It’s not always photogenic.

But it’s real.

I don’t practice for an audience.

Most of what I do… no one sees.

Not because I’m hiding it, but because it’s mine.

There are moments in my practice that don’t belong on social media.

There are rituals that feel too personal to explain.

There are things I do that wouldn’t make sense to anyone else… but they don’t need to.

That’s part of the power.

I work with what I have.

I don’t wait for the “perfect” tools.

Sometimes it’s herbs from the kitchen.

Sometimes it’s a quiet moment in my car.

Sometimes it’s just my breath and a very clear intention.

Magic doesn’t care if it’s convenient.

It cares if it’s real.

And some days?

Some days I feel it stronger than others.

Like today.

There’s an energy that comes back…

a pull, a clarity, a sense of yes, this is who I am.

On those days, I lean in.

I don’t question it.

I don’t overthink it.

I let myself move with it.

Because those are the days where things shift.

This is your reminder:

You don’t have to look like a witch to be one.

You don’t have to perform it.

You don’t have to get it “right.”

If you’re listening to your instincts…

If you’re working with intention…

If you’re showing up in whatever way you can…

You’re already doing it.

This is the kind of magic I talk about on Raven’s Ramblings…

the real, lived-in kind. The kind that fits into actual life.

If you’ve ever felt like your practice doesn’t look like everyone else’s…

Good.

It’s not supposed to
